What Guests Are Saying
War Eagle Campground offers a beautiful and clean environment with well-maintained restrooms and showers, making it a pleasant place to camp. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and spacious sites that provide privacy. However, some challenges include limited water access at sites, narrow roads, and a few overgrown areas, making it less suitable for larger campers.

Stayed at campsite 07. Behind a bit of a hill in the woods, so it felt nice and secluded, not like you were on top of other campers. Beautiful campsite! Picnic table, fire ring, electric, and drinking water were all great features. Only a short walk to beautiful views of the lake on the other side of the campground.
Only complaint is that the flush toilets were still closed when we visited March 19-21, which was not clearly indicated on the website that I could see. Outhouses were open but we didnβt find them on the other side of the campground until the second day!

You may want to visit campground before reserving. Many spots are very difficult to park in.

We were in site 10 with a 25 foot bumper pull and 1 truck.
Neutral: We didn't use the bath houses, so can't comment on those.
The pros: It's a pretty place. There's a marina, but we didn't use it,
The cons: The sites all over the park are VERY difficult to get your rig into. Some of the smaller sites are right on top of each other and the parking is terrible. Most of the sites are backwards, so your camper canopy doesn't face the table/fire pit. And, the whole park is basically on the side of a mountain, so it's very uneven. Our friends in site 21 couldn't even sit around their firepit because of the slope.
When we arrived, the gate house was closed and there are no signs anywhere to direct you to your campsite. We had to drive the loop several times to find our site, and then turn around so we could be going the right direction that would allow us to back in. There was a camper in the camp host spot on Friday and Saturday, but when we left on Sunday, that space was empty. The camp host was gone...like, packed up and left! When we left on Sunday, the dump station was completely clogged and we couldn't dump, and there was no host to help or answer questions. Very frustrating. We won't be going back...there just wasn't enough good things to outweigh the bad stuff.

Very nice park but some items still closed due to cold weather. The view from our site was awesome, looking over the lake.

Well maintained park with large, wooded sites. War Eagle cavern nearby is worth seeing. We would stay here again.

The shower and bathrooms were locked. We left early since we were tent camping and had no bathroom facilities.
