What Guests Are Saying
Convict Lake Campground offers stunning views, well-maintained facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a popular destination for campers. Visitors appreciate the clean restrooms, proximity to the lake, and various activities like fishing and hiking. However, some sites are small and exposed, with limited shade, and there have been occasional reports of noise and theft. Overall, many guests express a strong desire to return.

It was a slow week when we arrived they were very accommodating and allowed us to change spots. It was right before Labor day weekend and they said we would not have been able to do it that weekend. We had tons of deer in our campsite, and the fishing in the creek going right by our campsite was off the hook.

I have been enjoying Convict Lake for almost 50 years - camping, fishing, hiking, loafing, sometimes a cabin, and dinner at the cafe.
Always worth the 8 hour drive from home!

The campground is very well managed by the hosts restrooms were clean and well located. All facilities {store, lske, etc could’ve reached by walking. No need to move our RV during our stay.

Absolutely beautiful area. All the campsites are spaced fairly far apart, so no problems with noise or cramped together.
Be sure to note that the campground is on a hill, so takes a little effort to walk to the lake and back, for us old-folks anyway! The camp hosts keep the restrooms clean and sell firewood there at the same price as the Mammoth Lakes grocery store does, so OK to buy from them! The deer come right up to the sites in the evening, but no issues with them being a bother. Take lots of pictures!

We've stayed at Convict Lake several times. The campsites are mostly very large and private. Restrooms spread out nicely, water spigots are within easy reach. There is the store with all amenities, a great restaurant - casual or fine dining, horseback riding and boat rentals.
Lots of hiking trails and one trail all around the lake. An easy drive to Mammoth and other local scenic sites. Convict lake is a great family destination with something to do for everyone. The sight one wakes up to is amazingly unforgettable.

The sites are reasonably private and the nearby creek drowns out most of your neighbors noise. Hot showers are available. There is also an excellent (though expensive) restaurant within walking distance.

This campsite is beautiful from every view. We enjoy the campsite here because there is separation from one campsite to another and the parking is very nice and large. Every site that we've ever stayed at here is always clean and ready when we're arrived. The bathrooms are very clean and stocked with toilet paper. Access to drinking water is pretty convenient. There is firewood onsite for purchase, but it's onsite, so expect to pay a bit more for the convenience and bring cash. We've enjoyed coming here for years and we'll continue camping at Convict Lake for years to come.

We absolutely loved the campgrounds at Convict Lake. They are secluded, large spots and close to everything.
