Reserved site 1, very little shade and almost no space to set up a tent. Moved to site 13, much nicer, shady and room for a tent. Lots of trailers around us running generators all day but otherwise the campground was nice.

The lake is extremely low and not worth going. We were there Memorial weekend. The camp host on sight at Shirttail is strange plus more.

We have a good trip with the exception of if he weather. The camp host Jen was great! I checked in to see what the bear and cat situation was currently. She was very informative. We will definitely visit there again.

The camp host is really nice! The noise from other campers late at night was a bit excessive one evening but overall, great campground with good access to Sugar Pine.

Beautiful, will definitely go back. No hook ups but pit toilets are clean. Also has potable water available and a dump station outside the campground.

Beautiful and clean. The hosts said hi to us and seemed friendly. Bear boxes are provided and it’s no-flush toilets. Bring your own soap or hand sanitizer. The lake was super low, but still cool to walk around. A small portion of the drive up and down on Iowa Hill is at a 15% downgrade so I would recommend taking a different route if you’re towing or afraid of heights because there aren’t any railings and it’s a small paved road during that part of the drive.

Nicely spaced campsites with level asphalt pads, nice fire pits. Great meadow view. Clean restrooms. Attentive camp host.
