The campsite was very desolate dismal and sad. I think the entire campground is like that, you hear the river but there was no easy access. We tried hiking down, it was a rugged 2minute hike and so bad that on the way back we got lost. When I think of camping at Kern river, I want to be by the river, several other campgrounds offer that. I was lucky to find another one people cancelled. I spoke to the host, he was very kind and apologetic, to be honest, he keeps it very clean, so kudos to him.

Our campground host were amazing.
I’ve been coming up here my whole entire life, and this is the first time that I was actually approached by a host checked in, greeted with such professionalism and kindness made to feel welcome.
They were passionate about their responsibilities and made us feel comfortable!!!
Just great people and I have never seen the bathrooms so clean!!!!!

This was a great spot with tons of room to spread out our camp. Plenty of smooth areas for tent set up and an open area for us to play cornhole and bucket pong without encroaching on neighboring sites. Absolutely no cell service for Verizon but we didn’t mind. Also, these camp spots are only allowed 1 vehicle but the website misclaims 2 per site. It’s $8 a day for any extra vehicles and spot 17 can fit two pickup trucks if needed.

Beautiful campsite. Great host. Bathrooms were clean. It was pretty warm during the day, but not too cold at night. Nothing unexpected for this time of year. The proximity to the river was nice. Just make sure to keep an eye on the kiddos and pets. Kern can be dangerous. Overall, a great experience. We truly enjoyed our stay!

We loved our time along the river at Camp Three. We could have used a little more share but other than that the camp ground was beautiful and the facilities very clean. We look forward to another trip.

There is an extra vehicle fee of $8.00/night on the 2nd vehicle in each single campsite and on the 3rd & 4th vehicle in any double campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the 1st vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the 1st and 2nd are considered to be one vehicle and the 3rd and 4th are also considered to be one vehicle. So the fee would be a single $8.00/night of stay for the 3rd/4th motorcycle. |
