Manzanita Lake

Beautiful lake. Wonderful camp ground. Best soft serve of our trip!
Great store and facilities.

Great experience in Loop D, site 14. Plenty of room at the campsite, close to the bathrooms, and on a quieter loop. The other loops were very loud! Surprise ice cream at the camp store. Manzanita Lake is beautiful, but not the best for swimming (lots of water plants). Paddling out to the middle or far side gives you amazing views of Lassen Peak. Great area to camp!

Cooler weather in summer and clean restrooms!

Lassen Volcanic National Park is beautiful, and we enjoyed our time there overall. Our campsite had flat ground, easy parking, and was reasonably wide and quite deep. The fire ring with the cooking grate was useful. Tree coverage was sparse, however, and there were no trees close enough together to hang a hammock.

The camp store was convenient, although firewood was cheaper outside the park.

Many of the campers around us were respectful, but a few groups significantly affected the experience by playing music and being loud late into the night. Our next-door neighbors played music and drank loudly until at least 1 a.m. both nights. Sound from Sections A through C, including music, conversations, and children, carried easily into our area. The late-night noise made it difficult to enjoy the peaceful outdoor setting we had expected.

I would choose a site closer to the far end of Loop D next time, or consider a campground where quiet hours are more consistently enforced.

Very beautiful place to camp. However, my 30 foot trailer barely fit considering having to creatively park my 22 foot truck. When I hooked up to leave, I was literally blocking the road for other campers wanting to leave.

This is a very nice campground. Bathrooms have running water. No cell signal but the visitor center has free WiFi available outside even when it is closed.

Good campground. There are some bugs, but otherwise the area is very peaceful

Really lovely forest campground. In loop B there were a lot of large and unique pull through RV sites on asphalt!!! Pretty little trail from campground to the lake. The trail goes all the way around. Lake is just gorgeous with private coves for fishing, picnicking or kayaking/paddle boarding. Beautiful sunset from the boat launch. Campground restrooms had flush toilets and were clean. Showers were at the store for $5 a day. Cabins looked really great for family groups. *Very quiet and low key camp ground. We thought it was odd that we never saw or heard from the camp host, who did have an informative white board at their site. The RV dump on the way out had 3 sweet dumps and 3 water stations- lots of space. I Highly recommend coming here.

This is truly an epic campground. The location is just perfect--right on the lake and at the start of the park road--and the sites are well-maintained and spacious. It's not a huge campground, so walking around and down to the lake is easy, and there are great kayak and paddle board rentals. If you're coming with kids I recommend bringing scooters or bikes, because it's a great campground to ride around.

A couple things to know: the camp store is not too impressive, particularly with respect to food. Be sure to bring anything you plan on cooking with you, because there's not much to get there. Also, there is no cell phone reception, and the store has no wifi. You can walk or drive out to the visitor center (about half a mile) and use the wifi there.

Great campground! The sites are big, with lot of shade and everything is clean. The bathrooms have running water and a sink with a mirror and they keep them illuminated at night. There is even a very comfortable sink to wash the dishes. The store has nice treats and showers with hot water (5 dollars per day). And the lake is just steps away! Totally recommended!
