I come here every year and always enjoy this place. Tons of hiking and lakes to lounge at. All around one of my favorite campgrounds in the sierras. I will say there is no cell phone service in the actually campground, but if you drive into town you can find plenty of it (6 min drive from campground) if you really need it. Tons of wood around to purchase. Water spickets everywhere. If you’re there on a Sunday you can skip dinner at campground and have BBQ at the Buckhorn (in the summer). There’s a local Mini grocery store to purchase staple camping items and food. Sierra Pines Resort ( not a resort!) has a great breakfast with great views outdoors - highly recommend!!

Great campsite. It's a lovely location among the trees and the campsite was well looked after. We enjoyed visiting Sierra City, hiking to and swimming in the Upper Sardine Lake, and hiking to the Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout. The creek is quite shallow and rocky near the campsite but there are some great lakes a short drive away (including Upper Sardine) and some nice spots further along the creek.

Our camp site was available when we arrived, a little early! It was clean and had firewood stacked and ready for us to use if we wanted to, although that's not something to plan on. Camp host was efficient, toilets were clean and the campground in general was well maintained.
We had a very relaxing vacation at Wild Plum.

Positives: beautiful setting, lots of shade, very clean, very friendly camp host, free fire wood, nearby stream, fairly large sites
Negatives: two sets of noisy neighbors late into the night (we were in the upper loop)

This is a lovely campground with amazing location near Sierra Buttes and Sardine Lakes and Salmon lakes. Lots of nearby recreation. The camp host, Carrie, was super helpful and really made this a great experience for me. Very clean restrooms and facilities, and they had the bee/yellow jacket traps at every site so minimal bees. Highly recommended!

WOW! What a score! Camped in the area before, chose Wild Plum based on what was available in the area. Sites can be close together, we lucked out and didn't have any neighbors in the site that was the closest. It's a beautiful campground and very clean. The Camp Host, Carrie was absolutely wonderful and helpful, she greets each arriving group, shares some local info, general pleasantries, and then she and Maggie May go about their day. The bathrooms were clean and actually didn't smell too bad, (thx Carrie). Overall a great experience, I understand why people come back to this campground. My wife and will definitely be back.

It's so wonderful with the good luck and temptation to book the camp sites one week before and got it next to the river. National forest is really up to its standard. Creek, swimming holes, lakes, and amazing night skies. Vaulted toilets only and we happened to bring a water bucket which was super useful. The only thing is that the sign was unclear or no sign for hiking, Maybe that's why it is a gem and so peaceful. Will come back for sure soon.
