What a gem!!! Wish we could have stayed longer. We were right on the creek, site #1. Absolutely loved our site, but it is right at the entry so in no way secluded. In fact people tended to swim at our site... which we had mixed feelings about as there are many locations in which to access the creek. PCT is accessible right from the camp grounds and we loved our hike to Love Falls. Wear your swim suit! Bathrooms are cleaned every day and actually smell nice! Lovely host. Lots of trees and not terribly cold at night. Very spacious sites, though there may be some that are small. Really loved this campground! Great proximity to lots of stunning hiking and lakes.

We have been going to Wild Plum since 1983 & I hope to continue for another 20 years. I felt like we’d won the lottery when the campground opened the week before our scheduled reservation. This year’s campground host was the best EVER. Caree (Carey?) was by far the hardest working, most gracious, friendliest host in the time we’ve been going to Wild Plum/Sierra City. She was extremely adroit at dealing with noise after 10:00 PM, shutting down kids trying to party ( yes, even in COVID Times), talked to all of the campers about potential wildlife issues. She was fabulous. We hope to see her next year.

The campsite attendant (or the park ranger) was at hand to navigate the campers (in coming, on site and outgoing.) She was very helpful in every aspect of the operation.

A pretty campground tucked in a canyon with a pleasant river running by. Facilities are in very good shape. The PCT is not far away and there are day hikes and other activities everywhere. A beautiful area overall.

Beautiful campground with hiking and fishing. We’ve camped here four times over the years.
This year the water district was having problems and the water turned orange. While it effected the water at the campground it wasn’t the campgrounds fault.
Overall one of our favorite spots.

Be prepared for a fairly rough rode to the campground. Nice sites overlooking a cold stream. Cool sites for summer camping. Close to great hiking and biking trails.

Mosquitoes in the early summer and yellowjackets in the fall, plus a lot of campfire smoke spread by the wind along the creek when it's crowded, which is most of the season. Many nice campsites and ample vault toilets kept clean, though.

This campground is bare bones...cold water faucets, pit toilets...perfect for people that know how to tent camp.
