What Guests Are Saying
Pinnacles Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with a variety of wildlife, well-maintained facilities, and easy access to numerous hiking trails, including the highly recommended Bear Gulch Cave trail. Campers appreciate the clean restrooms, hot showers, and generally private sites, making for a relaxing experience. While some noted issues with limited facilities and the presence of raccoons, overall, guests found the campground enjoyable and a great base for exploring the stunning landscapes of Pinnacles National Park.

We had a very nice 109 spot in the RV area on the end. However, the 30 amp power pedestal kept tripping even if we just plugged in a little phone. (We plugged in back home with our 110 V adapter and it was fine and has worked fine in previous months with 30 amp power in RV parks). The 20 amp power worked fine, but since we paid for the spot with the power that was a big drag, but we just ended up being upgraded and it was OK. The park itself was super cool. The bathrooms are quite a ways from the RV area, but the store is really well equipped with fair prices and the staff are very nice.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Pinnacles campground! My site felt relatively private while still being close to a well-maintained bathroom. Even during the Federal shutdown, everything was clean and safe both at the campground and on the trails. From the east end, you can hit pretty much all the main sights (i.e., both Bear Gulch and Balconies Caves) and pack in some great hikes during an ambitious one-night trip. Pinnacles NP is so so underrated!

Was a bit chilly tues right before thanksgiving. About mid 20s during sleeping time. When suns out about low 60s. Dont depend on heater in cabin. Plenty of wildlife. Great trails straight from campground. Bike racks at most stops. Definitely comin back!

Always glad to see they continue to keep the campground wild. Love to see all the critters. Saw a bobcat and fox, the usual multitude of raccoons, turkeys and variety of other birds. We’d be glad to clean up that trash in the shrubs deposited by raccoon raiders for some free camping. What do you lovely NPS folks say?
Pinnacles is one of my favorite places anywhere.

Park was clean, quiet & well staffed. Wildlife in the campground was fun... wild turkeys, quail, deer and lots of turkey vultures. We spotted 3 condors while hiking!! We'll definitely be back!

Pinnacles has a lot of diverse activities, so we could enjoy ourselves even on one of the hottest weekends. On hot weekends (>100 degrees F), there is the pool by the campground during the day and tunnel hikes for the morning and evenings. Wouldn’t recommend longer, exposed hikes when hot though.

not very helpful campground staff, but the national park service store and national park rangers were lovely. Beautiful park and easy to navigate

Tent camping in November was a fun experience, even with the rain! The hikes were beautiful, and the campgrounds were well-maintained and quiet. We did a hike from Old Pinnacles to Balcony Caves trail, and also along the Condor Gulch trail to the viewpoint, and both were very memorable, with beautiful views and unique experiences (not often we've had a trail go through a cave before). We were definitely seeing the negative impacts of visitors feeding the wildlife all summer, though. The raccoons were starving now that tourists weren't feeding them regularly, and they didn't seem to be foraging on their own. PLEASE do not feed the wildlife! The impact on them was terrible to witness. The campgrounds provided food lockers, which was helpful, but the raccoons were desperate and kept trying to get into it all night.

One of our favorite spots. We like to go to Balconies Cave. This time only the bottom half portion was open but as always, we loved the hike. The website said high fire dangers but thanks to the rain, it was okay to have a fire!
