What Guests Are Saying
Pine Glen offers a fantastic camping experience with friendly and helpful hosts, particularly Merle, and well-maintained, clean facilities. The campground features ample space for groups, plenty of shade, and is conveniently located near various activities. However, some visitors noted issues with limited parking space, a lack of showers, and extra vehicle fees, but these did not overshadow the overall positive experience.

We had a wonderful time and the camp host Meryl was a delight! She was extremely helpful and always available for a quick hello or to give our dog Bear Tooth a cookie, I know he’s a fan of her’s ! We can’t wait to go back to Mammoth and stay at Pine Glen again!

Had a single camp spot (not group). Was quiet after 10:00 and not a lot of noise before 9:00. Close to town, so very convenient. Would stay at Pine Glen again

Pine Glen, is a great sub area of shady rest. A combination of a few single site, small and large group sites. There is easy access to the forest and shady rest park and frisbee golf course.

I brought a group of families with boys to spot #20. It was easy distance from a lot of tourist/site-seeing destinations. The spot allowed for 15 people. The site had plenty of places to pitch tents, three bear boxes, two picnic tables, standing fire grill, and a large fire ring with flip over grill. There were flushing toilets at an easy walking distance, potable water faucet was right by the site, and easy walking distance to bear safe trash cans and recycling boxes. They even provide buckets at the potable water stations so you can douse your fires for safety. Our main issues were the lack of showers, firewood, and extra vehicle fees. If you want to shower, you need to go to the RV park across the road, only between the hours of 10am and 5pm to buy a $10 shower ticket and if their line was too long and you arrive at the desk at 5:10pm, then you cannot shower. If the campground has flushing toilets, they should have paid showers somewhere between the three adjoined campgrounds... maybe up by the entrance. Firewood bundles were sold for $9-11 and you cannot bring your own wood to prevent the spread of insects and disease... you are allowed to harvest fallen pinecones and wood to use, but most was too green and smoked terribly. Now regarding extra vehicle fees, they count short trailers that are the same length as a van or truck, the same as an RV and therefore you must pay 3 vehicles worth of fees for that one trailer. You cannot pay those extra vehicle fees up front so you need cash/check the day of to give to the host when they come by. Also the driveway to park in was a tad too narrow, but we were still able to fit one small trailer, its tow vehicle, a van, a truck, and an SUV... but we had to pay over $100 in extra vehicle fees. Would we camp here again? Yes - but will plan for and bring more cash to cover showers and vehicle fees... and get to the showers EARLY!

Really liked the location of this campground - close to town, yet just far enough away that still quiet, peaceful. The pine forest setting is really pretty. The space was a bit tight to back into (towing a trailer) with the trees, rocks - just took a couple of tries but it was level, which was actually a nice surprise. Great location to get out for day hikes in Mammoth area - so many to choose from. Bathrooms were pretty decent. Used the potable water to fill up our camelbacks for hiking, that was convenient. Camp host was friendly, and suggested some places to hike, see. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed near the group campsites at Site #6. The site is large, fairly level, has plenty of trees and shade, and the camp hosts were very organized and greeted us with information already prepared and left at our site upon our arrival. Bathrooms were clean.
Reason for there stars for this particular site is the group campsite area was the next set of sites over. On our particular weekend, the Mammoth Lakes chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous hosted a large event and cars were overflowing into the road. They had set up speakers and a podium and were doing open mic during the evening and I could hear everything they were saying at our site. I have not read the rules, so maybe this is an exception granted to group sites, but I was surprised this was allowed given the normal campsite rules.
