Good quiet spot for relaxing.
Water and electric hookup is nice. No server hookup but there is one right outside of the campground.

Nice place to hang out for a few days all you need is there. Lake is currently low. 2-hour drive to Yosemite

We went in July and during the Oak Fire. This is partly why the weather was not good. The campground is really clean with outlets and many drinking water fountains. The campsite has its own vault toilets, although, shared flush toilets are available at a little distance from the campsite. The tent areas were very hilly and very dispersed. It's ideal for a very large group of people; we were 48 people. The shaded area was nice during the heat. We also loved having the grill and the fire ring.
The campground was very close to the lake. We were able to drive to the lake and swim there. The USACE provides life jackets that you can pick up and then return so that was nice. The lake water was muddy closer to the shore and the bottom of the lake was a lot of clay. Once you get a bit far, the water is cleaner. We all swam in the lake and did not get sick.

The park is well maintained. The ranger crew was exceptionally friendly during our stay! Only thing that was a negative was the water level, but not much they can do about that.
If planning a visit, just know it's 30 minutes to town, so come prepared.

I was able to get wifi at the site near the host office, but it was slow. Afternoon shade around 4:30 pm at the site. Campground feels safe due to good ranger presence and a host onsite. Roads into campground have been newly paved. I always enjoy my time here.

Paid for 2 nights only stayed 1. People shooting near our campsite, gutting rabbits near our site, loud music after 10 pm, showers, bathrooms very dirty. Shower nozzle clogged hard to rinse off

This site was PERFECT for my husband, 2 year old daughter and I. The roads to get there are being worked on so they’re not up to par but that did not stop the great experience we had. The staff were so friendly and I have never seen a cleaner campsite bathroom! Everything is quiet and clean and there are so many sites to choose from. The lake is very low but it’s the perfect temperature to just chill in and just .5 miles to drive to. Even my toddler just jumped right in with no hesitation that’s how awesome the lake was. The sites had everything you needed and everything is also an easy walking distance. Also the fellow campers we met there were SO nice and kind to us. Stars were unbelievable.
