We really enjoyed our stay at Codorniz. The campground is well-appointed and in good repair. The scenery is beautiful and the bird-watching was fun. Campsites have nice separation and the staff was very friendly.

Everything was great and clean. I went on April 29-30th hoping everything would still be green from the rain but unfortunately everything was pretty dead and dry. Great place to bring a dog, but they must be leashed; I was warned twice about rattlesnakes in the area.

Codorniz Campground is very safe. The Army Rangers patrol the area many times during the day and they are friendly. There is also a host on duty who is very helpful answering questions. I enjoyed my 14-day visit and had extended my stay to the maxium days.
This is a very quiet campground with actual campers who enjoy Iake sports and camping. There were no loud parties while I was there, even on the busy weekends.
AT&T cell service did not work even with a truck/RV Weboost. However, I was close enough to the host's office wifi to get 3 of 4 arcs. Would recommend a wifi extender and camping near the host area if you want internet.
I stayed in April at a shaded area in a camper van close to the host's office. The weather was nice around 70 degrees and hit 80 degrees a few times. While many of the picnic tables are shaded, there are only a few RV spots that are shaded. Campsite 12 was very nice, shaded, near the lake, but probably too far from the host's office to get wifi. I heard this campground can get very hot in July and August even with a/c. I plan to visit again in May before it gets too hot.
