The sites at this campground are wonderful: large, with plenty of shade under tall pine trees. Clean facilities too.

The USFS has been neglecting all campgrounds including Tannery on the Shasta Trinity National Forest. The vegetation along the main road to campground choked down to a lane and a half and one lane in places. For the price you pay to camp all entry roads and campsites should be in tip top condition. I have been staying on Trinity Lake at various USFS campgrounds since the early 80's and seen them go from good to pathetic. Folks tell me it's the responsibility of the concessionaire to maintain the roads and campgrounds but I think that's an excuse. As a taxpayer I am disgusted how the USFS as the public servant is treating our ground.
The campground host turns a blind eye to illegal activity but is quick to attack me for having to large of a fire at 11pm with three pieces of wood so my kids can roast marshmallows and enjoy themselves.

I ended up with site #61 - which was epic. Do what you can to get that site - it has the best views and layout. Easy access to the water. I was also able to drive my truck down to the water (too low for the boat ramp) and launch my kayak. Great camp host. Great campground.

Amazing campsite C42 next to the lake. Great experience even if it was just for one night.
