What Guests Are Saying
Tannery Campground offers a beautiful setting with well-maintained facilities, clean bathrooms, and spacious campsites, making it a great spot for families and friends to create lasting memories. Guests enjoyed the scenic lake, ample shade from trees, and activities like boating. However, some reviewers noted issues with unhelpful staff, disruptive noise from other campers, and the need for better communication regarding water quality and amenities. Overall, it’s a recommended destination with some areas for improvement.

We really loved our site. Little tricky for our “cabin tent” since the site was on a slight slope. We learned our lesson the first night and adjusted the air mattress “Down hill” for night 2. Very wooded so it felt private. The restrooms were not on the map, but they are right behind this particular site - so super convenient. They were clean. The Lake was visible thru the trees. Steep rocky walk to water where we did shore fishing (no bites). The beach portion was a short walk thru the other part of the campground which had several larger groups. Bring beach chair, umbrellas, water shoes, and something to float On if you don’t have a boat. There is a short hiking trail in the campsite - less than a mile but perfect for kids. Overall, we were pleased with this campsite. Only issue, update map with restrooms, note if the sites are tent friendly. This one almost wasn’t (unless you have a very small tent). Highly recommend

. On our way in we stopped at the HOST, we were wearing masks, she walked toward us WITHOUT A MASK, we asked her to stop since we are "social distancing" like it is MANDATED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA and she literally said "You don't need masks here, we don't wear masks".
It is mandated by the state in public places to wear masks to stop the spread of COVID. She does NOT have the right to make her own rules.
And then later we saw her come up to a car that drove up, filled with kids and the parents, and walked up to their window without a mask. And when we left we saw her again talking to a camper without a mask and NOT social distancing.

I have been going to this campground since 1967, when we found Trinity Lake. Best campground on the lake. I do have a question though. Why wasn't the boat ramp dock in the water last summer when the lake was full??
