The campgrounds themselves were nice. The tent-only non electric sites were a bit small but not by too much. The fire pits were fully functional and I especially found the table at campstove height useful, as was the regular picnic table and bench. The bathrooms & shower the first day: the shower was surprisingly well kept, and surprisingly had a range of temperatures from too hot to just right to warm to cold. The stream type from the shower head was closer to a bidet stream (one single stream, highly pressurized) than I'm used to, but that's workable. The bathroom stalls were too small - couldn't get my wheelchair in the shower without folding it first, and even without my wheelchair the toilet stalls were small enough that you have to squat awkardly next to the toilet to close the door. Fun fact, this can be fixed by simply changing the hinges on the door so they swing outward, if the park is looking to improve on a budget. Unfortunately, at the end of day 1 a ranger came around and told us that the wastewater facilities were having issues, so we could no longer use the bathrooms or showers, but could still use the pottable water spouts and the vault toilets by the boat ramp. The vault toilets were much more accessible (further to get to - we had to drive each time but someone more up for hiking could have walked it). There were no lights in the vault toilets but the sunlight lit it up really well in the day and a lantern worked wonders for at night. One of the vault toilets had a handle missing on the outside and the lock on the inside kept getting stuck, at one point I had to ask for my girlfriend to pass me a workglove to give me better grip to unlock it so I could get out of the vault toilet. That definitely needs to be fixed. They are well vented at least. The lake was great, the views were great. Other campers were nice to speak to but I wish they hadn't brought their speakers for their music. Overall it was good, just the distinct issues with bathrooms.

The site at Pine Flat Lake is beautiful but the weekend crowd was noisy and did not honour the curfew. The facilities are old and not well maintained. Not a place we will go back to unfortunately.

I really loved the email that was sent prior to my reservation , I also loved when the park ranger came by to check me in that he told my neighbors about the 10pm noise control (they were a large group) He warned me about the rattle snakes on the trails . I really loved the space that I reserved and Iwill be coming back !

My stay was great. Planning it was a nightmare. I planned a church group camp and got Blue Group Campsite. We then had a very wet winter and the camp got submerged. The sent me a reservation refund and cancelled the site. I then tried to reserve Trimmer site, but it was already half filled so I got a few sites at Island Park. One of our party had an electric car so we had him stay there with a few longer RVs. The camp was good. I prefer Trimmer since it has a more isolated feel and wish that those who don’t plan on showing would cancel their reservations so others can pick them up. The water was warm, we caught a 3 pound bass, and it was a lot of fun. Great camping area with nice views and trails to hike.

Site 20 had intermittent cell service using T Mobile network. It has adequate shade in the afternoon, but not much shade in the morning.

Pictures on Recreation reservation site show campsites with lake views. With California drought, reservoir has receded almost a mile. Lots of barren shores. Pictures are very out of date.
Our RV site was just a plug in beside the access/exit road of the campground and barely just suited our pop up. Bigger RV;s would have issues.
