We came at the perfect time of year and basically had the campground to ourselves. In looking at the campground overall, some of the RV sites are too steep or unbalanced to be good with automatic levelers. We had site #11 and it was fine, but our friends were assigned camp #10. After multiple tries, we could not get their motor home leveled. Luckily the ranger came along later that evening and our friends were able to move to site 7.
I understand not having full hookups since the campground is so near water, however, I would recommend upgrading all motor home and trailer sites with a water spigot. You don't want to be on the road with a full tank of water for multiple reasons. We have a long rig and had to really juggle it around to be able fill it up at the campground.
My final suggestions would be:
1) Provide some hiking trail maps or a board of trails for folks that like to walk. We looked at the entrance booth and there was nothing posted. There are many ways that this area could be enjoyed and an activities list would be very helpful.
2) Make note on the campground website that boat rentals don't begin until May (it was not extremely clear that recreation on the lake was so seasonal). We had 65 +/- degree days and had we understood that none of the marinas rented boats until after May 1st, we would have brought out kayak.

We stayed at site 5 which is right next to bathroom/shower 1. great view of the lake and mountains. you can comfortable set up 2 (4 person tents) and have a rooftop tent on a car parked near your site. I prefer this campground during the spring vs summer.

A beautiful area with stunning scenery and terrain. It is a great area for cycling and hiking. When we visited in February the hillsides were green and there were tons of beautiful wildflowers all in different colors. The restrooms were clean and our single staff encounter was friendly.
The one issue we had was that some of the groups with RVs at neighboring campsites consistently played loud music. We were hoping that the music would stop at the listed quiet hours (10pm), but it carried late into the night (3am) (we admittedly didn't contact park staff about it, but there was not a patrol to check on the noise level)

We spent time cleaning the sites of bottle caps, cigarette butts, etc. And someone shoveled all the ashes out of the fire pit in site #30...made for dirty shoes in the RV. It was a beautiful two days and the wild flowers were lovely. More water than we anticipated. We'll be back next February.

Nice place for the 3 mild seasons. Not some place I would go in the summer without a boat. Now for the downside. BEWARE the site map and the lengths it says they will accommodate. I used the filter option for a 30ft RV with electrical and found a lot of them so booked one. Got there and it is basically a parking spot with NO WAY to fit even a 20ft RV in it. Talked to a ranger there who said he was going to recommend the sites be reevaluated so the Rec.Gov can be updated with correct site lengths. He let us move into a empty camp host spot instead or we really would have had to leave. Also I noticed a lot of people just showing up and taking sites because there are no reserved signs on them when there is no camp host so if you go without a reservation and take an empty site just know that you could be asked to move by someone that reserved it. All the sites do have a sign that says they must be reserved in advanced so all you people who just show up hoping for an empty site good luck with not getting moved out.
