Cabin number 13 was nice and clean upon arrival. Instructions on lock box containing the cabin key made for easy access with the emailed code number. Fire pit, picnic table, and bear secure food locker close by. Easy walk to the lake shore from the cabin. Nice walking trail around Manzanita Lake. My stay was enjoyable.
Things to improve.
Blinds on all windows were in need of replacement. The door window had no blinds at all.

NO HEAT IN CABIN 15 OR MANY OTHER CABINS. NO HELP ON SITE. Paid $300 to hike Mt. Lassen and sleep like a monk on a thick gym mat over a wood bed in a cabin at a high altitude that hit 37 at night. Camping store clerk said they do not service the cabins and I would have to talk to recreation.gov about it. Except, there's no service. The campground is beautiful and well kept but it is just too cold at night with no heat! We flew in and only packed sleeping bags because our reservation specified a cabin WITH propane heating. It was so cold! We stayed three nights and had NO heating available for any of them and many of our neighbors were in the same pickle. I've been far warmer and more comfortable in my tent on snow than this cabin with falsely advertised heat was.

We have been staying at this same cabin for many years. You cannot beat the area and the security and warmth of a cabin. Unless the heater is broken, then, it is a different story! A portable one was provided but it was kind of scary to use. Our phone company is Consumer Cellular. We had service at the turnout in the Chaos Jumbles turnout inside of the park so we would go there. During a thunderstorm, I did receive a flash-flood alert on my phone at the cabin site so that was good to know that alerts work there.

I have stayed at lots of campgrounds and cabins. This cabin was really well maintained and the grounds were beautiful. Very close to Manzanita Lake for sunsets and photography. Every cabin has its own bear box and the bathrooms are close by. Showers were better than most campgrounds - hot water and good pressure. Camp store had delicious coffee.

Bare bones, but clean and functional cabins, nestled right next to the lake. The facilities were all very clean even during the long weekend. No electricity was a new experience for our family - but enjoyed basking in the moonlight.
Would highly recommend for anyone not ready for tent camping but want to experience the camping in the wild

First time staying in the cabins instead of a tent campground and loved it. Good proximity to lake and saved us during an unexpected storm.
