About Manzanita Lake Camping Cabins (CA)

Situated near the northwest entrance to the park, the rustic Manzanita Lake Camping Cabins offer convenience and comfort in the scenic setting of Lassen Volcanic National Park. These 20 cabins are the first new accommodations in Lassen Volcanic National Park since 1972, and are available in three models: 2 Room, 1 Room, and Bunkhouse. They are within walking distance of Manzanita Lake, a popular catch & release fishing and family destination, and offer a view of 10,457-foot Lassen Peak, the largest volcano in the park. The cabins are located one mile south of the park entrance, perched at an elevation of 5,890 feet and adjacent to a 179-site campground. The Loomis Museum, Loomis Ranger Station and popular hiking trails are nearby. Educational programs are presented at the museum and amphitheater within the campground.    Groceries, supplies, gifts, gasoline, laundromat and hot showers are located at the nearby Manzanita Lake Camper Store. Our cafe features a variety of delicious and healthy items including salads, fresh fruits, hot or cold sandwiches, espresso drinks and soft-serve ice cream. Kayak and paddle board rentals are also available on a first come, first serve basis at the Camper Store.  A map of our cabins can be viewed under additional information or on our website, www.lassenlodging.com.  Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ManzanitaLake.

Stayed in the same cabin #15 for three years in a row, blinds have yet to be repaired, price charged should be able to repair window blinds after three years. Other than that very enjoyable stay.

Be sure to remind users to bring blankets and pillows. It was a cold night sleeping in our clothes without a pillow.

I liked the cabin, just wish we had been better prepared.

Lassen is a new favorite NP.

The cabins were so much nicer than we’d expected based on other reviews, truly a steal for the price!

We had a lovely time. The cabin was very nice and the grounds were clean. My daughter really enjoyed the hike around the lake.

Second stay in the cabins - this time we had cabin 11 and location was great! We brought paddleboards and spent a lot of time on Manzanita Lake. Hiked Hat Lake to Paradise Meadows and ran into a bit of snow at the top but it was ok. Make sure to hit up the campground store for some soft-serve ice cream! Looking forward to our next visit already.

Great camping spot for a family. Manzanita Lake was a great spot for hiking, swimming and kayaking. Our campsites (T1 and T2) however, did not have picnic tables. We would return but maybe book another campsite.

There is no picnic table. All other sites have a table excluding the two glamping tents. Bring your own table.

Great view of the lake from our cabin. It was nice to have a sofa, table, chairs, and a bunk bed -- not sure if all the cabins were similarly equipped, but #7 had all that plus one bedroom with bunks on both sides (the bottom on one side was double, which allowed a member of our group taller than 6"2 to stretch out diagonally).

The pictures of the cabins were a little deceiving. I was expecting them to be a little more secluded. The trail around the lake wasn’t what I was expecting either. When you got to the area of the trail where you could see the snow cap in the background there was a pop up canopy where some of the kayaks were and it made for bad pictures. I didn’t find the bath houses/toilet area to be that clean either. Coffee and gift shop were great!!! If you aren’t worried about people, this is your place. If you’d rather be secluded and not have many people, I’d pass.
