Lassen is wonderful. Cabins are ok - Bathroom is a hike from cabin with only cold water in two sinks. They charge $5 for a shower in a separate area. There is supposed to be lantern in cabin, but was not - so glad I brought two. Otherwise staff was extremely helpful, kind and gracious.

Bed is on short side. I'm 5'6 and my feet touched the wall.
No lantern was provided even though description said there would be one in room

Perfect size for our party of 5. Mattress base is quick sufficient if you get your sleeping bag. Location is excellent, just a stone throws distance from the lake. Camper store nearby is decently supplied with food, drinks and other small items you may need. Our second time in these cabins after more than a decade. Will stay here again on our next visit to Lassen.

Lassen is a jewel and we've been camping at the park every year (barring fires) for 42 years and have been using the cabins for about 8 years. Cabin #8 was clean and had a view of Manzanita Lake.
The key lock system can be difficult for someone with stiff, arthritic fingers; we had to get help to access the key in the lock box.
The window blinds in the cabin were broken in places causing a lack of privacy. One window was very difficult to open and close and its screen was torn.
As has been the case for years, the showers were filthy. This year, the water never got warm (much less hot) - had to take a cool shower at 7:00 in the morning. Have travelled abroad & used public showers before going into swimming pools, mineral baths, etc. - those facilities have always been modern and sanitary and I wish Lassen would provide such a facility. The concessionaire needs upgrade the shower building and service it more frequently.

We spend a few days in a camping cabin every summer. This year, the main issue we encountered was the notable shift to very meager selection of goods and food items in the camp store. Clearly, the concession-holder has chosen to stock the most minimal of food and sundry items, which is a major change from years past. The Lassen/recreation.gov website for this location should clearly inform campers that the store is carries a very limited selection of goods (milk, for instance) so that campers can plan ahead. We also discovered, after paying for showers, that there was no hot water in the women's shower room. If you charge $5.00 for a shower, the water should be plenty warm.

The cabin was clean and nicely positioned with a partial view of the lake nearby. My only negative comment would be regarding the heater. There are no instructions inside the cabin as to how to properly and safely turn it on. You can’t turn it on with the thermostat and I’m assuming the outside propane needs to be turned on. There should be instructions.
