Many visitors appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities and the quiet surroundings, especially during off-peak times. We camped at Tuttletown Rec Area for the first time over Thanksgiving 2020. The weather was cold at night but sunny and nice during the day. We loved the campsite which was a pull through for our travel trailer. The grounds are very nice. The bathrooms were ok. The showers didn't look very inviting and one of them was non-functional (in the men's room). Everyone we met was very nice and seemed to be enjoying their visit. We definitely want to make this a regular place to visit during the late fall and winter months.

Booked this campsite last minute in the ladder days of November. We were expecting it to be very cold but it really wasn't too bad at all! Our campsite was nice with lots of trees that would provide shade during the summer months. It looked right over the lake which was beautiful. It was a bit small (which we wanted) probably only fit about 2ish tents depending on the tent size, but that was expected and indicated on the reservation website. Other sites were bigger so just pay attention so you can get what you are looking for. Campfires were allowed which was great! Dogs are allowed at the campsite. A lot of folks have RV's but there were definitely some folks with tents too.
Overall, I think this spot is underrated. If you are looking to just get away without being swarmed by people, this is a pretty neat spot for it. Beautiful lake sunset views and probably lots more to do in the warmer months.

Our first time at the Acorn campground. We were in site 41, a tight pull through, and one of the few long enough for our trailer and pickup. Only a few people in the campground this time of year so it was nice and quiet and dark. Lots of trails in the area for hiking. Lots of deer and quail. There is one pit toilet and one flush bathroom/shower room. The pit was clean enough, but smelled bad when you walked by. The flush restroom facility could really use a good cleaning/freshening. I wouldn't shower there without keeping water shoes on the whole time.

There was constant patrolling which was nice to keep things clean

THE WORST EVER!! Assigned a campsite for 2 tents. Not even enough flat ground for 1 let alone 2. NO camp host to help. Empty trailer parked right next to our driveway with generator on constantly. All other sites taken although we reserved 6 weeks before out end of October date.
Totally inhospitable Unhelpful etc
Weird part was that they know it's terrible because every week we'd get emails "Are you so excited about your upcoming reservation/"
