The hookups at this campground are not convenient at all — definitely bring extra extension cords and sewer lines. The bathrooms are very old and outdated, even by campground standards.
During our stay, the overall atmosphere wasn’t relaxing. Many campers seemed to have little respect for boundaries, frequently walking through others’ sites and playing loud music all day long — easily heard throughout nearby campsites.
There’s no on-site camp host, so if other campers disregard quiet hours, you have to call security. Unfortunately, security only drives by rather than approaching the site, so the noise usually stops temporarily and then starts right back up. It finally got quiet around midnight.
If you’re looking for convenience and proximity to Camp Richardson, this spot works. But if you’re hoping for the serenity and peacefulness that Tahoe is known for — this may not be the place for you.

It is a nice rv park, however, near to us there was a big group that were playing loud music until about 9:45 at night. Signs were posted that quiet time was at 8:00. It would have been nice if a camp host or the management of Camp Richardson had done some rounds to make sure that the music was off at 8:00.

This is a good campground if you want to be near the beaches, Tallac Historic Sites, or South Lake Tahoe which is literally just down the street. However, be aware the power and water are oddly positioned, near the front of the site in a position such that they are easily shared by the adjacent site. This can work for or against you depending if you are backing in a trailer or put putting a class A in front inwards. In our case, (site 4) it took 70’ of power cable to connect to power for our trailer, and since the power was on the wrong side, the cable had to run under the trailer. Had we a motorized RV, it would have been much easier if you parked front inward. We had to fill our water tank from another site before backing in, as I only had 50’ of hose with us.
Know that CA89 can get noisy so consider sites away from the road.

Love the campgrounds.
Few issues
1. No camp host for assisting. kiosk close no instructions where to check in arriving guests confused
2. Hose on the dump station was torn and problematic again no one to ask for assistance

I was in site 60. It was a very large site dubbed the Eagles Nest as the tree next to the site houses an eagles nest at the top. Note the nest was empty at the time of my stay, so I did not have a bird doo doo everywhere. Nesting is usually in the late fall/winter/spring as that is when they lay their eggs most of the time. The site was fairly level, I was able to level out my 32' motorhome with a couple of blocks of wood. The campground is convenient to South Tahoe amenities, and has its own coffee shop, general store, beach access (with a very popular bar and grill) as well as a marina.
