What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with ample shaded and spacious sites, making it ideal for families and groups. Many campers enjoyed the proximity to trails, visitor centers, and stunning views of the surrounding giant sequoias. While some noted issues with bathroom cleanliness and site proximity, the overall experience was positive, with a strong desire to return for the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Felt very “out in nature,” not just a parking lot with spaces for rv’s. Beautiful deep woods, very quiet, host was super nice and greeted us upon arrival! 51 and 56 were parallel parking spaces, not back in or pull in spots so they were close to the road going through the campground, but still very nice with wooded views!

I loved the campground. From the moment I arrived, the scenery was amazing. I stayed on Site 99 near the meadow, and there was so much beautiful greenery. I even saw deer in the meadow. I was happy that they ate without fear.
The campsites were great for families, and we reserved several sites together.
The rangers were kind, friendly, and very helpful.
I especially have to rave about the bathrooms — they were very clean! Thank you so much. The last time I went camping elsewhere, I had the worst experience because the bathrooms were filthy, so this really stood out to me.
Thank you for keeping the campground safe and clean.
We will definitely continue our family tradition and will be back next year!

The tent spot for site 100 is on a bit of a slope, but otherwise I had a great time.

Great overall experience, only complaint was our tent campsite (#72) didn’t have any flat area. Clean bathrooms, friendly host, good food at the lodge.

We had a campervan and this site was flat enough that we did not have issues with the grade. Nestled between rocks, makes for privacy and fun bouldering for kids. Bathrooms walkable, but we drove as there is short term parking near the bathrooms. There are large sinks outside the bathrooms for washing dishes/pots. Bathrooms had no electricity so bring headlamps. Flush toilets.

Nice camping during the week
Some spots are a bit close but generally a nice selection
Great to be near the Grant Grove

It has good shades, facilities services near by, very quiet (except for someone in an RV, who arrive around 2 am the second night and made a lot of noise setting up the RV).
It is closer to the north attractions, and because it was not a busy week, we could access Sequoia area in a good time.

Really nice campsite! Has a good amount of distance between neighboring sites, and just down the hill from the restrooms. Just a short walk from the General Grant Trail as well. Overall had a great experience :)
