What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

This campground was perfectly situated near great hikes and Grants Village. Our site, #60, was probably the best tent site in the campground. It was secluded and quiet and large. My only negative about this campground were the bathrooms. They were sufficient but not necessarily pleasant.

Great campground. Sites are well spaced and give plenty of privacy. At elevation so nice and cool at night. Great location in Grants grove. Will return for sure.

We enjoyed our time camping in the Azalea Campground. It's important to know that site 79 and 80 are not as close together. It would have been easier if we had 79 and 81 or 80 and 81. We have 8 people in our family so we had to use two campsites. Campers at 81 have to practically walk through 80 to get to their site. Sites 79 and 81 have more privacy than 80 (or 78 that is right by 80 as well). Despite the separation, the sites were comfortable and the campground was clean and quiet.

This was a beautiful campsite and was so quiet at night! The only thing I wished was that there were a few more restrooms - it was a pretty good walk to get to them from some loops. But a beautiful place that I definitely will stay at again! And I really liked staying in Kings Canyon as it was less crowded than Sequoia. I recommend stopping for a swim at Hume Lake on the way out to the Canyon.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. No showers but the bathrooms have always been really neat and clean. Some of the cleanest I've seen. The rangers are friendly. The camp store is within walking distance as are several trail heads. On this one occasion we had a rather large and loud family (tons of kids it seemed) but this was an outlier for us.

On our tour camping through some National Parks, our time at Azalea Campground was our favorite! Site 60 is the absolute best camping spot! No close neighbors, bouldering, hiking trails from the campground…beautiful! Highly recommend.

Very beautiful campground. Lot of space for every RV. It’s so quiet in the morning. You hear singing birds. Check in was really simple. Only a look at the board and you can go to your place. If you have no toilet in your RV, look for a place near the restrooms, so you don’t have to walk to far. We had everything in our rv, so it didn’t matter. Great campground. Close to general tree. (Not the Sherman)
