What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

We stayed @ site 100. Walking distance to the village with market, visitor center & restaurant. Short hike to Grant Grove. Would love to go back again.

The campsite itself was very nice. It would've been helpful to have a campground map posted at the entrance to make finding the restroom and dumpster easier. The restroom was filthy; based on the dirt on the floor, walls, and sink, it hadn't been really cleaned in weeks. The trash overflowing in the restroom and the trash scattered around the dumpster and recycling container made it hard to believe park staff were taking bear safety seriously.

I wouldn’t stay again because of loud music and parties. I’m sure this behavior ruined others sleep for two different nights and their camping experience as well. It’s really unfortunate that nobody checks on the camps at later at night. I feel cheated!! I suggest picking remote camp sites away from others if you don’t want to be disrespected.

Azalea Campground in Kings Canyon National Park is quite peaceful. It is nestled in a forest of tall pine trees, with several small ring roads that reduce overall traffic. The campground has different elevations; however, the sites are relatively flat with little need to level. I camped in site 24, near the entrance, a short walk to the visitors center, and perfectly flat for easy setup.

Site 81 is a great location--set back from the road through camp, up on a little crest, good shade. It's between two bathrooms, very convenient. Great spot for families.

quiet campground in a central location for driving to both sides of park. Site 7 is on a hill with only a couple flat spots for tent, can imagine this site being a problem if it were to rain.
