What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

This campground was pretty, but crowded and loud. We woke up to someone screaming in the middle of the night, and then woke up again early in the morning to the people next to us yelling at their kids. There were a lot of ants at the campsite and it was very dusty. There were clean flush toilets a bit of a walk away, and the campground is conveniently located near a store.

A friend said that some regards King's Canyon as better than Yosemite. I thought, "No way." Then I visited. King's Canyon is more rugged and untamed. Absolutely stunning. And my stay in Azalea added to the experience. A little crowded, but it is a popular place. The high elevation helps with temperature. This is a sincere review, but DON'T TAKE MY SPOT for next year! ;-)

We liked this site. Very close to the walking trail toward the general store (buy your wood early, they sell out), and along the creek. A good tree spot for hammocks and a level spot for the tent. Parking spot was tight, so you shouldn't have a trailer here. The background was lovely. We couldn't see many other camp spots. Partly shaded, but gets a lot of afternoon sun. The campground beyond Azalea was loud and had some partiers/barking dogs. That was annoying. You can also hear some road noise. Overall, a pretty good spot.
