What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

For some reason this campground was much louder than most we've stayed in. It felt like everything echoed through the grounds. There were so many babies crying, dogs barking and just general noises people make throughout the day/night that we couldn't even tell where they were coming from. The host was actively walking around which was the first we'd seen on our trip. He caught that we had left our bear box open when we left (yikes) and closed it. Then was kind about letting us know. The sites were okay on spacing but it felt more open and exposed than other sites. The camper van in the site next to us was parked within 10 feet of out tent. Every time they got in and out of it (which was a LOT) the door was slammed shut, even during quiet hours. That was not fun. The sites were hit and miss on shade and it was really hot. July 2024

This campground is perfect for a little more privacy. It was spacious and you aren't right next to your neighbor in comparison to Lodgepole. Amenities are as described. This campground is perfect for visiting General Grant. We did the Ella Fall's Loop Trail that runs by Azalea. I would stay here again if visiting this side of the park.
