What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

Loved camping among the large trees and being walking distance to visitor center at Grant Grove Village and to the General Grant Tree trail.

Nice campground. A couple minutes drive from Kings Canyon Visitor Center, General Grant tree, store, gift shop, restaurant… No showers. Restaurant was very casual and had great food options. Also was able to charge our phones there.
Kings Canyon and Sequoia national parks have a joint Junior ranger program, don’t miss it.
Site 86 was nice. Initially we didn’t like it because it is surrounded by the access road on 3 sides and there are no bushes or anything so there is zero privacy. But as we observed many other sites, we appreciated 86 more and more. It is very large and flat, would easily fit 10 tents. Some sites didn’t have enough flat ground to set up even a single tent. There are tall trees on both east and west sides so you can find some shade most of the day except around noon. The picnic table is quite small but mobile, so can be moved to shade. Restrooms and sinks for dishwashing are very close, just across the access road. Would stay here again.

I really wish they would give you a paper map of the campground! We had problems going back and forth on the trail to the Grove and store, missing our loop. Sites are OK, but not especially large. You will hear your neighbors' conversations. Great roomy food lockers. Bathrooms are dated, but supposed to be renovated at some point in the future.

Very nice trip. We had two deer walk right through our campsite over a two-night trip. The hosts were very nice, the site was clean and they have flushing toilets, which my wife really appreciated. We were also just a short hike away from the Grant Tree. I highly recommend this campsite.

Nice spot to truck camp. Within eye sight of the bathrooms. Just beware, there are no trees in this spot. Great for looking up at the stars at night, not so great if you were hoping to hang a hammock.
