What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

This campsite is awesome, so many trails run through it that I hardly had to do any driving during my entire trip to King's Canyon. Highly recommend staying here if you are into hiking because the trailheads to some of the most iconic loops are within walking distance (my group knocked out Grant Grove, North Grove, and Dead Giant loop in half a day). The campground is also very taken care of, restrooms were clean and functional, staff and neighbors were all friendly.

Stay was great! But unfortunately site 86 is is only a 1 car walk up site. When booking it states it is 2 car site. Luckily we parked on car in the overflow parking but if there was no space, not sure what we would do with second car

Rec.gov never mentioned that the site I booked shared a parking spot with the adjacent site. Then, to add insult to injury the camp host had the audacity to complain about how I ended up having to park. Will not return, and I use Rec.gov even less now due to its utter unreliability.

We stayed one night here, it was great--the space was ample between campgrounds. There were deer that casually grazed around. The bathroom (flush toilets) near our camp was very clean, had good ventilation, and automatic night lights. However, people should still pack headlamps and use low light to navigate to the bathroom, it was very disruptive for people to shine bright flashlights at people's tents to find their way at night. We were here in late June, the middle of the night still gets slightly cold (low 30s). I would come back!

This was the first time I went camping, and it won’t be the last. This site is a cute little corner, and is good for 2-4 people. There is space for one large tent, and a couple spots for tiny tents. It is on a slope, but it is very close to the bathroom and trash bins. I really enjoyed it.
