What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

Rec.gov never mentioned that the site I booked shared a parking spot with the adjacent site. Then, to add insult to injury the camp host had the audacity to complain about how I ended up having to park. Will not return, and I use Rec.gov even less now due to its utter unreliability.

We stayed one night here, it was great--the space was ample between campgrounds. There were deer that casually grazed around. The bathroom (flush toilets) near our camp was very clean, had good ventilation, and automatic night lights. However, people should still pack headlamps and use low light to navigate to the bathroom, it was very disruptive for people to shine bright flashlights at people's tents to find their way at night. We were here in late June, the middle of the night still gets slightly cold (low 30s). I would come back!

This was the first time I went camping, and it won’t be the last. This site is a cute little corner, and is good for 2-4 people. There is space for one large tent, and a couple spots for tiny tents. It is on a slope, but it is very close to the bathroom and trash bins. I really enjoyed it.

Azalea campground was great. This campsite was nice and flat but it is kinda small and there’s no shade. But after 6 pm you’re good.

Azalea campground is great! But campsite 38 was not pleasant. It’s not flat at all, there’s a couple small flat spots to place your tent. But the table and the campfire are all on a hill. Also there isn’t much shade.

We had a pleasant stay at the campground. There are just two small issues we had. At first, our neighbors generator was running nearly the whole time (when it was allowed) which was quite annoying and the aecond point, the way to the restroom was quite long. But beside of that, it was great!

Nice location.
Close to restroom and big tree is next to it. A bit tight site for pitching 4person tent
