What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

The campground is nice enough but there was no oversight; no campground host, no rangers, and since no cell phone signal, no way to contact any responsible party after the visitor center closed. This was problematic because of campsite pirating. That is, a large motor home drove in, moved boulders that blocked access to a closed area and camped there. A second large motor home took over the last unoccupied campsite. When the people who had reserved and paid for that site arrived at ~ 7PM, the motor home pirates refused to move. The rightful occupants had no recourse as there was no official backup, no rangers, etc.
Campsite piracy is a real problem here, so come prepared to evict pirates from your rightful campsite.

Basic campground and services, however no dump stations nearby. Fairly clean campground with very friendly and informative staff.

We were here for 2 days in early Oct. Chilly nights, clear days. The campground is very spread out. The camp sites are generally large and private. Loved it. Easy walk to Grant Grove. Close to the visitors center.

Nice campground and well spaced out from others. The only negative side to this campground is that there are no showers, and of course the public restrooms could be cleaner. There was no soap to wash your hands after using the restroom and only one building was unlocked to use, but there were multiple ones there but they were locked.overall it was a good experience if tent camping is your thing
