What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

Good location and excellent facilities. A couple of good hiking trails from the campground. Easy access (about a quarter-mile walk) to the village store, visitor center, and post office.

The campground was a smaller one and very nice with a stream running across the back of my campsite. The vault toilets were probably the cleanest of that type I've ever experienced. The campground has steep and narrow roads so if you have a large RV that can be an issue. The only minus I can think of is there is no water at the time I camped (September 2023) but it wasn't an issue since I knew about it ahead of time. The closest water requires a drive to the Lehman Visitor's center. I stayed 3 nights at Azalea campground.

Nice campground, right nearby the Kings Canyon welcome center. Had good amount of water sources for my campsite and the trees offered nice shade. Bathroom was well stocked with toilet paper but no soap or drying device which is an inconvenience. Can also spend most of your days trying to walk around the local trails or drive up towards Hume lake or down to General Sherman and the Senate.

Was okay. The ground was very uneven. So we couldn’t get the RV on the right spot.
