Beautiful campground, located alongside side the river. The bathrooms were clean and I could definitely tell their team was working hard to keep the facilities sanitized. Great hiking, beautiful camp sites with ADA accessible sites available, and everyone we camped next to was respectful. No matter which campsite you’re at you will fall asleep to the sound of water rushing through the river rocks. It took us about 30-40 minutes to drive to the General Sherman tree from here.

The campground is beautiful and I loved being able to hear the river as I fell asleep each night. Definitely check out Hospital Rock while there. It's right at the entrance to the campground and is so interesting! Would also recommend buying firewood on your way in to the park. Collecting downed wood is allowed, but for me at least, it was hard to find good sized pieces. Or, if you plan to collect downed wood, make sure you have a way to cut it.

Beautiful campground. Clean bathrooms but no showers available. Fire ring, table, and bear box at sites. Sites are fairly close together but the campground didn't feel too crowded. The small road to the campground from the main road is one lane and most of the parking spots looked small, very large vehicles and trailers should be weary. We had a small van and did fine but def check the size limits of each site. There is a 3 mile hike from the campground, which we didn't hike but that's a great plus!

We stayed at Site 14 at Buckeye Flat for 2 nights in April 2021 and it was excellent. It is a small campground with ~20 sites and one central bathroom, a sink for cleaning dishes and a water fountain. Note: There is nowhere to buy firewood at the park entrance or campground, so make sure to buy some at the local store before entering the park. Also, the last road to the campground is a narrow two-way on the side of the mountain, so I recommend trying to get to the site when it's still light out because entering on that road in the dark is likely scary. Overall, we loved this site and would stay here again.

Spacious spots with flat tent sites. All nicely shaded, with a creek nearby for wading and listening to. Great campground for spring and fall visits to see the sequoias, since the campground is several thousand feet lower in elevation than the main groves of sequoias in the rest of the park.
