All the other camp sites seemed very shady but Site #20 had no shade whatsoever. It was sooo hot, my wife and I ended up going down to three rivers to try and find another place because the heat was pointing straight on our tent. No pine trees around either. We ended up finding a spot at cold springs campground which was way more beautiful.

I've been coming to Buckeye Flat since I was 9 I'm 31 now. I like Buckeye Flat, it's very relaxing and adventurous. Be aware that you share nature here at the campground. Have fun be safe.

Site #13 was amazing. It was private, right by the river, so romantic. My boyfriend and I spend 4 nights here mid-May and it was quite a bit warmer than we expected. Paradise Creek hike was a fun warm up to our Lakes Trail hike that we did for our peak. The restrooms were clean and running water was a nice touch. The water is potable, but it is still highly recommended to filter it if you’re going to drink it; better yet, filter the river water! It tastes much better! My only complaint was our site was VERY mosquito-y and we were totally unprepared. I’m still scratching haha

Very nice, close to the river, clean and somewhat secluded.

I camped for one night with my boyfriend, we set up at noon and left the site to do some hikes and when we returned later, people had set up next to us and also parked in our reserved spot. if you’re planning on having multiple cars just know there’s limited parking space for each site. all was fine and falling asleep to the sound of the river was perfect! site is pretty much empty in the day and everyone comes and night and leave early in the morning. we did the marble falls hike by camp potwisha and of course moro rock, both were amazing! definitely recommend hiking up to moro rock from the museum rather than just driving straight to the rock. you get a great chance to see some of the giant sequoias in the forest that you typically just drive past and ignore.

My brother and I enjoyed our campsite immensely! We did not feel like we were on top of other campers and the campground was quiet. The sound of the rushing water behind our campsite was wonderful to sleep to. The bathrooms were also clean and well-maintained, which is a plus. We would stay here again.
