The bathrooms by site #20 were disgusting. Toilets overflowing with feces, trash all over, sinks had puke in them. I asked the ranger to please resolve this and it took a few days to be handled. We were told to use the bathrooms at the Visitors Center in the meantime (which closed at 9 and didn't open until 8am), which also were filthy. The showers were disgusting as well (massive clumps of hair, trash, etc,) and most were not working. I learned that these are handled by the visitors center, not the rangers. Upon requesting to have them cleaned and the quarter machines emptied in the 2 stalls that worked (They were so full you had to shake them down to get your quarters in to take a shower-FYI $1 gets you 3 minutes), I was informed "Well we can't just go in there and clean them! And there's a guy that comes every so often to empty the machines. We don't do that" Mind you this is July, the peak season. I don't mind roughing it, but with what they charge for nightly campsites/things at the visitors center, they can afford to maintain the bathrooms/showers.

The campground is centrally located with easy access to various trails such as the Tokapah Falls trail and the Twin Lakes trail. It is also within a 30 minutes drive to the most popular sites in the park such as Moro Rock, General Sherman Tree, Tunnel Log and the Giant Forrest Museum. They are also where the only public showers in the park for campers is located although half of the showers are not operational and consequently there are often long lines waiting for an available shower. The restrooms near our campsite were fairly basic and poorly maintained.

- Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible. Falling Objects - Don't linger under dead, cracked, or broken branches. Run if you hear cracks or snapping from tree roots, trunks, or branches (know that sometimes there is no sound, and very little time to react). Report falling branches or trees to a ranger.
- A California state fishing license is required to fish in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and Sequoia National Forest lakes and streams. Fishing licenses may be available at National Park and National Forest markets.
