What Guests Are Saying
Lodgepole Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with excellent facilities, including a market, showers, and organized ranger programs. The campground's proximity to major attractions in Sequoia National Park and the convenience of a free shuttle enhance the overall experience. While some reviews noted issues with crowded sites and restroom cleanliness, many visitors expressed high satisfaction and a desire to return.

We stayed here last year in 2023 and it was an amazing experience. Wish I could say the same for this year, the sites themselves were good but the bathrooms were horrific. I was on a cross country trip, stayed at many campgrounds and by far this one had the worst bathrooms, it’s not even close. There was toilet paper all on the floor, even what seemed like poop stains smeared on some places of the walls. I even recall seeing toilet paper on a urinal!! We pulled in around noon and the next day when we left around noon the bathrooms were exactly the same, no one even bothered to clean them. At our loop only one stall for the guys was not clogged up. I could hear everyone complaining and saying the same thing that they had never seen such poor maintenance.

Pros: Awesome location, right next to a waterfall and swimming hole, trees for a hammock, decent privacy.
Cons: Can't back your car into the spot so you'll need to carry your stuck 350ft from parking to the camp location. Also, there was a nasty smell of spoiled milk that came and went from the campsite. Not sure what it was but it was unpleasant. Overall, we enjoyed our camping experience and would definitely do it again.

Great place to Camp, but not the best Spot. Small and the campground isn‘t in the best condition.

Site 053 was a very good site. Directly above the creek, nice bit of shade before 3pm and after 5:30pm. Sunny in the afternoon. Not enough trees to put up a hammock. Facilities are dirty though, not kept clean regularly.

The location of the campground and the park as a whole were fantastic, but that is where the positivity ended for us. The facilities were filthy (human feces on the floors and walls, no working showers, garbage overflowing). It was very unfortunate because the campground location is gorgeous with the entry to the Tokopah Falls trail which was well worth the hike.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
