What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

The campgrounds itself is beautiful, quiet, and very clean. This campsite specifically (057) had no signal for T-Mobile and tenting area is slightly on an incline. A 4 person tent or smaller would do fine for the flatter part of the site but for a 6 person tent, it had to be on the hillside. I would not choose this campsite again, as its also pretty far from all of the bathrooms. The redeeming quality is that there is a water spigot at this site. It also felt a little too public because it is directly at the corner of an intersection. I would definitely come back to this campground but choose one along the outer rim of the area -- better views and phone signal.

This was a great site. Other sites were on top of each other but 82 was fairly secluded. Right next to the bathroom and ash removal station.
The major downside is it's infested with bees. Don't know if this is a Sunset issue but definitely a problem at 82. Luckily, the bees don't sting, only swarm and hover. Also, the tent pad is a bit sloped so you many need to experiment with tent placement.

This is a very picturesque campground. We had a whole section of the campground to ourselves. The facilities are adequate. The only issue was as we cooked, we were harassed by bees...not stung, just harassed.

Site 37 was spacious, relatively flat and we thoroughly enjoyed the prime sunset views each night. The campsites on the west side of the campground were spaced out nicely and the weather was absolutely perfect for August camping with temps getting into the 40s for comfortable sleeping weather. Beautiful place to spend a few days!

Easy access. Well maintained. Good bathrooms. Do bring ear-plugs as the quiet hours are not exactly existent. But overall really great experience.
