What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

We loved this campsite, we had a 5 star experience. We were at campsite 052, lots of room and not on top of our neighbors, across the road was just trees and cliff so we got lucky with not a lot of camping neighbors. The bathrooms were close and spotless. We were seriously impressed with the bathrooms and thankful for flushing toilets! The campsite was easy to find, just be aware of the drive up if you get car sick - it is super windy. We did a 9 mile hike that we got to start at the campsite so we got lucky with that. Our tent was on a little bit of a slope but oh well, it’s camping. Picnic table was large with plenty of room and the bear boxes were clean. Only downfall was that our site had quite a few bees when we brought food out, but again oh well it’s nature. We got to hang up a hammock and the sunset views were amazing, even saw shooting stars. If you want a quiet spot, try spot 52!

Lovely campsite with a beautiful view of the Sunset. The bathrooms were clean. Easy to find our site. The only complaint I have is that there were some campers who did not respect the quiet hours -- would be helpful to have a way to reinforce that. Also, It would be good to tell all those who come to the park that they they shouldn't walk near the trees and that it is important to stay on the path. I don't think this is adequately reinforced and many people break that rule potentially harming the trees.

Our campsite was a beautiful campsite with a great view. There was not any shape during the day, however, so it did get a bit warm as we didn’t have a canopy. The bathrooms were well maintained and close to our site. This was our first time camping here, but certainly won’t be our last!

Beautiful location, though it was on a slope which made tenting a bit difficult. Neighbors were decent. Would highly recommend eating at the nearby Pinehurst lodge bar and grill for dinner, though it is quite a winding drive down! Overall 8/10 camping location, but make sure to bring your own soap because there is none in bathrooms!
