What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Pros: site 116 is close to restrooms, without being noisy. Far enough away from
other camp sites, some are bunched together which is probably good for groups. Plenty of room for large tent ( 8 person probably max ). Close to General grant and market.
Cons: far away from any water, rivers. Noisy at night.
Overall pretty good experience

Overall popular campground! Great amenities, close to everything, and of course a beautiful spit for sunsets. However, would avoid spot #147 - on a hill and not entirely sure where the tent was supposed to go, aside from right next to the neighbor's bear locker (nope) or further down the hill to the next spot of flat ground.

We camped at campsites 18 & 19. They were both on a slope that made it difficult to set up tents. It was difficult to sit around the fire pit because the slope was so steep. The entire campground was clean and quiet despite being full. Overall, Sunset Campground is one of my favorite places. It is well maintained and full of healthy trees that provide shade for most campsites. I would avoid #18 & #19. I would like it if the campground would level out a section for tents and for a campfire. A rake will not do it.

Lovely campground!! I suggest booking campgrounds 30-40s since they’re an extremely close walk to a beautiful panoramic view for watching the sunset. I loved that it was in the middle of the National park so it made it easier to go around.

Great site, but would have been ALOT better if I wasn't being watched like a prisoner from the rangers. They circle around about every 15 to 20 minutes. Looked and felt like communism. Luckily I'm awake, and I had to stand up for myself because a ranger placed a Roasted Marshmallows board game in the Bear Box. These deep starters think they can win, they all lost. We The People of won and that ranger left real quick after I told her that I'm on to you deep state. They watched me like a vulture for 5 days. Anyone in the near future going camping, watch your selves and don't fall for these rangers BS. Unconditional Love and Light to All ❤️ ✨️
