Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Wonderful campground close to Grant Village and is an easy drive to all the major sites in Sequoia and King's Canyon. We even had a woodpecker nest in our campsite! My kids were absolutely enamored with the baby birds and other wildlife.

Lovely location at the exit of the park, when heading towards Yosemite. Or coming from there, a good spot for the northern part of the park. All installations ok, just the ash containers overfilled. Sunset at the rim of the campground amazing…and some digital connectivity there😉

Overall the experience was good. One toilet latch was broken. Tap water near our campsite was not coming.

Great spot close to the bathrooms & water. Felt private because of the slight hill next to us. Within walking distance to the Visitor Center & restaurant.

Love this campground! Minutes away from the village with a restaurant, market, gift shop, and visitor center. Its the perfect spot between Kings Canyon and Sequoia, about an hour to the end of each park. There are no showers here and the bathroom did not have soap, so bring your own? The sites are a little bit close together (55 and 56 share a parking space as did many other sites) though every site does have its own bear box. We had LTE with ATT and cell service for Verizon which was a nice surprise! Never saw a staff member here and went directly to our site so come prepared with your reservation info.

Sunset is a lovely campground with clean restrooms and plenty of recycling and trash cans. The sites are a bit tricky for tent camping, they are smallish and not particularly level. The campground’s proximity to Grant Grove Village is extremely convenient. I wish there was a ranger or camp host present, especially for holiday weekends, to deal with the issues of late night arrivals, unextinguished fires, loud music, barking dogs, etc. Nothing puts a damper on an enjoyable experience quicker than having to deal with disruptive behavior.

Nice campground convenient for going to many places in both Kings Canyon and Sequoia NPs. Lots of bird activities in late May with lots of spring migratory birds.
