What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Great campground. Had some confusion with which site I booked because I didn't take a screenshot before hand. Beautiful setting, clean bathrooms and fresh water.

We had the Handicap site and the one across from it as well. I think they were 26 and 27. we stayed monday through friday and had a wonderful time. The handicap site had sun during the day which we escaped by going to our other site and the gnats bothered us here and there but hey we were in nature so you know it happens. The site is literally around the corner from the visitor center and there is also a restaurant, souvenir store and market there too. 1 mile past here was a sequoia grove which had a nice walk to the general grant tree which is 41 ft diameter and over 250 ft tall. My disabled mother in law was able to do the loop walk to it but it was hard on her. There were several benches to stop at and it was all paved so a wheel chair would have worked if someone with muscles pushed. Amazing trip. Also getting to the campsite was easy from all main roads.

Great campgrounds and great site. But when the weather rolls in it can get windy!

Worst campsite ever. Literally park your car and the bear box and campsite is up a steep hill.
We didn’t even stay. Couldn’t get out ice chest up hill. Pretty upset since it is my daughters & I annual camp out.
