Watch out for the 400 series campsites. You may end up with a very rocky, slippery campsite on an uncomfortable grade.
My two companions could not navigate the slope. Slept in the car. Left early the next day. Ranger said she would see that I received a refund for unused days but that has not happened. Lovely area, friendly staff. Just pick your site carefully.

Beautiful campground, we were fortunate to find a last minute weekend site. Close enough to the valley to drive there in the morning in under an hour, but far enough a way to be able to enjoy the nature and fewer people. The wildlife precautions are not to be trifled with; we saw a bear around the treeline a few hundred yards from the campsites a little after arriving late afternoon, Use the bear boxes!

I visited Crane Flat around October, and while it was just a little cold, it was a beautiful campground with loads of trails heading out the back of the camping boundary. We even saw a couple of bears from a distance! Definitely use the bolted-in food storage bins if you're planning to camp here, and don't keep any food in your tent or car. Otherwise a very convenient location within Yosemite, and easy to drive to.

Was disappointed to find only one shared tap, and then first one, then both ladies toilets blocked when we stayed. we reported this- but nothing happened. We have camped all around the world for 25 years and have never seen facilities like this servicing so many people. what about composting toilets?. There should be no shortage of wood chippings.

I was impressed with the organisation and the promptness of every staff/ranger.
Can't wait to comeback, you guys are awesome and should be very proud of what you do.

We stayed here a couple of days before staying in the valley and it was a great campground to visit the northern parts of Yosemite and points along the Tioga Road. It is busy and open so you can see all the other campers around you but you are still surrounded by nature and beautiful trees. Had a bathroom with running water and flush toilets but no soap (due to bears) so make sure to pack your own soap and hand towels. There was also a handy water spout to fill water bottles/bladders. Had an amazing time here and in Yosemite!

I really enjoyed the stay. The space of the camp site was very comfortable and the wildness in the camp area was beautiful.
The services work as expected and the rangers was very kind.
I liked and enjoyed the road to Yosemite Valley in just 15 min.

There is no light in bathrooms so you must have your own flashlight.

Easy and friendly check-in, even late in the evening @ 7:30pm.
Our site was perfect (307). Reasonably flat for our 25 foot RV, close but not too close to the amenities.
Bathroom was basic but clean and tidy.
Easy 30 min drive into Yosemite Valley and only minutes to the Tioga Pass turn off.
