What Guests Are Saying
Hodgdon Meadow Campground is a clean, well-maintained facility with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere, making it an excellent base for exploring Yosemite. Many campers appreciated the beautiful natural surroundings and the cleanliness of the restrooms. However, some sites are sloped and close together, which might impact comfort and privacy for certain visitors. Overall, it’s a highly recommended spot for campers looking to enjoy the beauty of Yosemite.

Nice campground with toilet facilities, however the sites are very unlevel. We were in a small class C RV and could not get it level. We saw people in tents on the slope, which makes it hard to sleep. It would be nice if there was a central spigot for potable water.

The campsite was very clean and was an awesome spot. The drive to the valley wasn't to far and I could never get tired of driving that road. It was an amazing experience being in Yosemite.

This campsite is at the North entrance to the park, which is great, because it saves you from towing a trailer through the park to the valley. The downside is that it is 30 minutes from the valley. The park was nice and quiet and there was plenty of wildlife around. We arrived mid-afternoon and were greeted by a big, white tailed deer, who just ambled along her way as if we were just a minor nuisance in her world. There are regular bathrooms, which was nice. We visited in winter, in mid-February, and the park is spectacular at this time of year. It's the time of year for Fire Fall, which is where Horsetail Falls is backlit by the sun at sunset and looks like lava flowing. It's truly an amazing site. We got to glimpse it as we drove into the park at sunset, which saved us the 2-3 hour commitment it takes to walk to the viewing sites. You also must see Bridal Veil falls and of course Yosemite Falls. If you get a chance, do the 2 hour hike to the Mariposa Grove of Sequoias at the South end of the park.

Please come up with better descriptions of the slope of a site. Otherwise, very good

Was at an uneven campground but knew that ahead of time. Only a 40 minute drive into the valley with plenty of wonderful pull overs and scenery.

Thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay here. Park ranger was extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed in spot 62. Beautiful. The biggest advantage of Hodgdon is also its biggest disadvantage. It’s located immediately adjacent to the 120 park entry kiosk. That means it’s a great place settle in after arriving at the park, or to stage your departure, but it’s quite far from the valley and Village.

We spent 2 nights at #51 in October 2024 and had a very nice stay! The parking is extremely close, the bathroom is also nearby but not too close that we noticed the lights or foot traffic at all and the bathroom was also fine and clean. Also it was not as cold as the Valley, which we appreciated in October! It's surrounded by trees within and outside the campsite, and just inside the park entrance, which we enjoyed and made the drive in worth it.
