Bathrooms were rather limited and dirty and the water is only cold. There are no showers on the campground

Beautiful location. Sites could be more level but tough terrain for that. Well located to a lovely section of the park, including the drive to stunning Olmstead Point.

The park rangers were excellent but the campground was shockingly primitive and very poorly designed. Few of the campsites were level, the toilet and washroom and other facilities were wholly inadequate. There were few if any picnic tables. We came from Portland Oregon and our experience in the national parks at Mt. Rainier and Crater Lake as well as in state and county campgrounds and in Canadian national and provincial park campgrounds was without exception far superior. It was an embarrassment that all the visitors who travelled across the country or from Europe or Asia had to endure such poor conditions. Yosemite is so significant both physically and historically for the American West, indeed the whole nation, that it is really sad that visitors’ experience is spoiled by a stay at Hodgdon campground.

The campground is fine, but it is quite far from most of the Yosemite “highlights” and there is no/low cell service.

We were VERY glad to snag a site at all, so we’re grateful to have had the opportunity to visit Yosemite. That said, we were not clear from our website reservation experience whether we were actually legal in our site which said “tents only” while we were in a 20’ self-contained van. But the guy at the entrance booth said we were ok to go in. Honestly though, the campsites were REALLY close to each other. People were well-behaved and quiet enough as the evening progressed but there were just too many. I never used the restroom facilities.

Secluded and with more privacy than other camp grounds we saw. 40 mins from the valley. If your going in not peak time then this is not a problem at all.

The terrain is quite steep and there are few flat spots for a camper or tent. There are no water spigots close to the road - so it's difficult to put water in an RV tank. There is no cell coverage there. Most of the tent sites involve a steep hike from your car

Good location, sites are close together, area is very dusty, restrooms were marginally clean.
