The camp ground is great however at night from 8p-10p the name "Elmer" was yelled out from various camp sites throughout upper pines to each other... every 1-2 minutes... for 2 hours straight.... all three nights.
I really don't get it.
It was like water torture.

Absolutely loved upper pines! Our spot was full sun until after 4pm or so and by the bathrooms but we made it work!

Yosemite is a busy place, but site 174 on the second to last loop from the entrance was pretty good. Being at the very "tip" of the loop means you'll have neighbors to the left and right but not behind you. It's right next to the road so sometime the last shuttle bus interrupted our attempts to sleep early, but otherwise no problem. It has a path across the stream to the road so you can quickly get over to the Happy Isles shuttle stop or the Mist trail. However that's a double edged sword as people were not shy about walking across our campsite to get to the shortcut.

Site #148
Our campsite was great! It was conveniently located near a restroom and a water station, and just a short walk to the nearby Merced River for floating and swimming. I do wish they could add shower facilities, as there were a lot of campers. They also strictly enforced the campfire rules.
