About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Bathrooms were clean but a broken toilet paper holder opened and crashed on the guest when paper was pulled. When I heard a little girl scream after this, I reported it to the cleaners. It was taped closed two days later. The latch on one of the three stalls had a broken clasp which was reported but never changed.
Upper Pines campground is well maintained and the other campers were respectful.

Good for tent camping. A little close to neighboring sites, but expected. Very little shade. Bathrooms were near, but not overwhelmingly close. Absolutely no cell service for at&t or T-Mobile though.

There is a tradition of people yelling out the name "Elmer" at dusk/night. Super annoying and camp hosts don't care as it is a "tradition". Super lame. How about a tradition of gathering to sing evening songs around a campfire or something nice and not so loud and obnoxious. Won't stay here again.
