This was our first time camping at Aspen Glade and it was beautiful and peaceful. The river is amazing and the campground was clean. We did have a bear encounter, which we reported to the camp hosts, but the bear was not aggressive.
We did notice that several reserved spots never filled but were tagged as reserved. This was disappointing because we tried to reserve the waterfront sites but they were booked. Overall, a great experience; we'll be back!

The Conejos River is a great river and the star attraction of this area. Aspen Glen is a gem of a campground.

This is becoming our favorite campground! The lower loop by the river is definitely the place to be, with lots of shade trees and easy access to the water. Going in early June this time, the river was much higher and colder than later in the season. But it was still beautiful and enjoyable. Bathrooms are clean and there's now a little general store about 2 miles away for any forgotten items or more firewood.

Aspen Glade is a very nice Colorado campground on the Conejos. Most of the camp sites have pine trees for shade. We stayed on top level and experienced some mosquitoes. I did not confirm, but suspect, there would be more mosquitoes on the bottom level sites next to the river. River access for quality water (no bait fishing) is easy. Our site was an easy back-in for our Airstream. We will return to Aspen Glade.

Beautiful accommodations next to a roaring river. Very well maintained and well designed for privacy. We are going again in August.
