We camped next to the Flying Pan, which was soothing to the soul and good for sleeping. Nice level spot. This is a quiet campground. Meredith (down the road) has a small convenience store/liquor store with the basics - great for grabbing ice, sodas, small first aid stuff. We didn't access the reservoir, but we want to return with kayaks.

The bear box in the site was greatly appreciated, and it was a sizable bear box. We could fit our coolers and other storage containers in it (some bear boxes barely hold a cooler). Table was in excellent shape, and the potable water and dumpster are also appreciated. Kristi and J.D. do an excellent job of keeping the facilities tidy and operational (they are getting a reputation for this)! Very friendly and helpful. Come for the bathrooms, stay for the nature!

The camp hosts at Chapman were the best. J.D., Kristy, Kathy and Meadow came to our rescue more than once. Due to the fires farther west in Colorado, we had to change our campground plans at the last minute. Arriving at Chapman the hosts helped us find suitable sites for our small trailer even though the campground was almost full. Our camp hosts were on the go all day long keeping the grounds clean, helping campers and maintaining the latrines to a high level of cleanliness. My wife and I have been camping in Colorado for more than forty years and the hosts at Chapman rate the highest.
