Beautiful campground. Many sites are small with little room to set up a tent and I would recommend choosing carefully if you plan to have more than 2 people with one tent camping on a site. We camped on the driveway of the site with just enough room for our CRV on the remaining room of the drive. There is no water in Little Mattie so you have to drive to one of the nearby campgrounds for water. The campground hosts just arrived during our time at Little Mattie and quickly got to work cleaning bathrooms and putting the campground in order.

I stayed in Little Mattie #7 and had a great time! The entire campground is close to the water, incredibly clean and well-spaced. The vault toilets were the cleanest and best smelling I have ever experienced! The camp hosts (I can’t remember their name but I stayed in June 2022) where incredible! Super welcoming, helpful and proactive about keeping the camp in wonderful condition.

There is more vegetation and trees is this campground than the other three at Ruedi Reservoir. It is the farthest from the marina, but it’s still just a few minute walk or a 3 minute drive. It has its own little cove just down the hill where you can boat, swim or kayak/SUP. It has just the right amount of people to be comfortable but not overwhelming. I would absolutely stay here again!
