This is a fantastic place to camp. It s very scenic and the camp sites are not too close together. This place is far enough from the Front Range to keep away the "rif-raff". During the week, there are not very many people. The weekends tend to fill up though. If you have a boat, access to the water is very convenient. Just be prepared to have Reudi red mud ground into everything. The campground hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
The water shortage situation there made things less than ideal though. Portable toilets were setup in front of the normally nice bathrooms with flush toilets and running water. This would have been fine, except the portable toilets were not serviced frequently enough during our stay, resulting in some really gross and unsanitary conditions.
I have been camping here at least once a year for 25 years. It is sad to see the campgrounds in this area slowly deteriorate due to the lack of proper maintenance and not replacing things as they become old. It seems the management has changed hands several times, and each time the price gets higher and higher with less and less staff to properly maintain the place.
Overall, the experience is very positive.

Beautiful scenery, nice hikes available at the Ruedis trail head just next to the campground entrance. The lake is awesome this time of year perfect for boating, jet skis, paddle boards, etc... The 505 trailhead is also about 20 mins away located on the Frying Pan road. Overall great spot to go camping beautiful scenery between the mountain and the lake 10/10 would go again.

Flushing toilets, easy access to a beach for swimming, boating and fishing. Good scenery. Never a dull moment. Winds picked up every afternoon we were there, so if you want quiet time on the water plan to go out in the morning.

There was NO running water in the park, the bathrooms were closed & the septic dump station was not open. We could have boon docked & saved our money if this was disclosed before we arrived.
