This is far and away the most beautiful and resource-laden forest service campground that we enjoy in CO. Hot, running water, flush toilets, and incredibly friendly hosts make this our go-to camping spot whenever we can. Karen and Rob keep the bathrooms spotless and are always checking with campers to see how the experience is going. Terrific hosts. Thanks for all your work and we look forward to seeing you next time!!

The restrooms are super clean. Warm water for showers makes for a great stay. The Crystal is running very nice right now. Could be trouble by late July/early Aug. It was a bit smokey and windy make fly fishing challenging but rewarding.

Beautiful campsite, Karen the camp host was super helpful and gracious. Bathrooms clean and smelled great! Hot showers were a plus! Great experience!

The campground hosts were really great on both loops. Campsites and bathrooms were clean. The higher loop, however, had no water, apparently due to an overdue pump repair. They have the part, but the person responsible for installing it does not know how. It seems for the price, the water should be working. Fortunately, we brought enough of our own. There are many great videos on youtube that explain well pump repair.

We love the location, yards from the Crystal River and beside wonderful and vibrant mountain town. Great fishing and hiking are at your back door. The hosts are friendly and the campground is quiet. Unfortunately our side of the campground had no convenient access to water as the outlets were out of service. Depending on the site you get you may need to take a long walk to access water. The walk is good exercise.

Hosts were welcoming and worked to keep facilities clean and stocked consistently. Stunning setting in aspens with red rock cliffs looming behind. I love this place!

We loved camping at Redstone. The campground is clean, great sites, and a very helpful host who is on the Machau side. We loved visiting the town of Redstone and hiked Avalanche Trail. The ferns are amazing to hike through. We also checked out Avalanche hot springs. It’s worth visiting.

Highway access
Redstone is accessible via I-70 to Highway 82, which is approximately 12 miles from Glenwood Springs, followed by Highway 133 south for about 15 miles.
Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
