We always enjoy South Meadows. Disappointed to find no water available and no heads up from anyone ahead of time.

I personally called the Pike National Forest ranger station the day before out trip to inquire about the water spigots since this was only the 2nd day that the campground was open for the season. I was assured that all of the water was on. WRONG! There was absolutely no water anywhere in the campground, nor was there water at the Colorado campground down the road that we could have gone to get some. We showed up with no water assuming that it would not be a problem since I was assured that all of the water was on and working. We had to drive into Woodland Park to buy jugs of water for our 3 night trip. I believe this was unacceptable - the ranger station should be aware of what's going on at all of their campgrounds.
