What Guests Are Saying
Marshall Park is a pleasant campground situated along the Rio Grande, noted for its cleanliness and helpful camp host, Melvin Bell. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, beautiful river access, and well-maintained restrooms. However, some concerns were raised about a diesel spill affecting site #6, the lack of potable water, and areas needing maintenance, which detracted from the overall experience.

Camp host was not available multiple times that we went to his spot. He did not clean the fire pits from the previous campers. Also, we were not made aware that our reserved campsite for the next two nights was changed do to construction/repair of original site.

The is a wonderful campground on the shore of the Rio Grande river. There is currently no source of potable water at the campground. You can see where the hand pump is at but there is no handle. The one pit toliet was well tended. There is no shade in the campground. When pullingour 35 ft travel trailer into our site instead of overhead obstructions there are a lot of large rocks on the ground that you must be aware of in order not to lose a running board.

Site 10 was listed with shade - except the big tree providing shade fell early in the summer and was still laying across the site (along with other associated debris). Luckily another FF site was available and I moved there. No campground host stationed at this campground (came from another campground).

This review is primarily about site #10 where we stayed. As other have noted, there is a very large downed tree across the campsite which is sort of excusable. What is not excusable is the wall of dead branches piled up for about 10-15' along the side of parking area which forces you to place your trailer closer to next site and limits the use of the site. Someone with a large rig may have a problem. This is also a big fire danger. Secondly, the fire pit is located on the other side of the large dead tree rather than near the picnic table which makes it useless. Other issues of the park in general is the uncontrolled growth of weeds infringing on the road way and parking pads. This could have been a five star rating campsite along the river if not for the lack of upkeep. The park was quiet and well off the highway.
